Google Maps, Making Life Easier for Bookkeepers?

Ok so us bookkeepers are not at the forefront of Google’s decision making. However, they are rolling out new features in their popular maps app which may help us a little. These include an eco friendly mode on the driving maps that allows users to select the route that is the most environmentally friendly. This will be done through analysis of factors like road type and traffic density. Environmentally friendly routes translate directly to fewer trips to the gas station, so a little less work when record keeping. This eco friendly feature will be chosen as the default when ETA’s are roughly similar.

Other add ons to the Google maps app are also in the works.  Most of these updated features will deal with indoor navigation at places like airports, malls, and stadiums.  Users will be able to use AI and an augmented reality directional tool to find the nearest elevator, restroom, ATM, baggage claim and much much more.  These features will make future business travel a breeze and reduce the headache at chaotic airports.  So travelling around the world for business might soon be a little easier.
